Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2004
The Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government, in exercise of the powers
conferred on him by Sections 6 and 18 of the Building Control Act 1990 (No. 3 of 1990),
hereby makes the following Regulations:-
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Building Control
(Amendment) Regulations, 2004.
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 April 2004.
3. In these Regulations, “the Principal Regulations” means the
Building Control Regulations 1997 (S.I. No. 496 of 1997).
4. The Principal Regulations are hereby amended by the substitution
of the following for the Second Schedule –

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)
These Regulations amend the prescribed form of Commencement Notice which must
generally be served on the local building control authority – prior to the start of work on
the construction of new buildings or the material alteration of, or extension to, existing
buildings.
The Regulations will come into operation on the 1st April 2004.
